Workers Memorial Day 28th April – 1pm Rochdale Memorial Gardens

In the UK every year hundreds of workers are killed just doing their jobs and thousands more die of illnesses caused by their work.  Most are killed because their employers fail to comply with the law or fail to manage health and safety properly.  On Tuesday 28th April trade unions around the world will be using the Workers Memorial Day (WMD) to remember those who have died at work and to fight for improved health and safety standards to protect those still at work.

We are arranging for the Union Flag at the Town Hall to be half-mast on Tuesday 28th April and at 1pm that afternoon we shall gather by our memorial tree, in the memorial gardens opposite the Town Hall to have two minutes silence as a mark of respect.

Please show your support by attending this event.
