2026/27 pay update
The latest pay claim for local government staff in England, Cymru and Northern Ireland has been submitted on Monday 1 December 2025. The employers will consult on our claim during December to January, and we are urging them to respond as soon as possible.
Our claim includes (based on a one-year settlement):
- An increase of at least £3,000 or 10% (whichever is greater) on every pay point
- A minimum pay rate of £15 an hour for all staff
- A two-hour reduction in the working week
- An increase of one day annual leave
- The ability of all school support staff to take a day of paid leave during term time
